INRIA is the French Research Institute on Computer Science and Control. Tropics is one of its 210 research teams, located in the research centre of Sophia-Antipolis near Nice. Tropics counts 3 permanent experienced researchers and 3 PhD students. The research team has expertise in both creating adjoint codes by program transformation and in adjoint methods application to CFD. The team develops and distributes the AD tool Tapenade. The team has already been involved as a full-size partner in European projects of FP5 and FP6.

Dr. Laurent Hascoët (laurent.hascoet@inria.fr)is Research Director at INRIA. His research focuses on software tools for Scientific Computing, Partial Evaluation and Automatic Parallelisation in the past, Automatic Differentiation for 10 years now.
