About Flow – Public Engagement, Outreach and Careers Training

The Transferable Skills and Public Engagement Training at QMUL 7-12 September 2014 will involve experts from:

  • Professor Peter McOwen and Centre for Public Engagement, QMUL team (on Outreach and Public & Media communication);

  • The Educational team from Imperial War Museum Duxford (Chris Jefferson, Learning Officer, IWM Duxford on Public engagement with the wider audience);

  • Dr Tracy Bussoli from Career Services QMUL (on CV writing and Interview skills);

  • School for Engineering and Material Sciences SEMS Marketing team on publications, presentations, communication and workshop sessions to create interactive materials for outreach events in schools, science festivals or museums.

  • Mr Francisco Campos from Engys London on Entrepreneurial skills.

During the training session organised by the QMUL experts the ESRs will present their own work in the ‘Dragon’s Den’ pitch session. Following a training workshop on public engagement, all ESRs will jointly develop material for their outreach activities such as posters, presentations and interactive demos.
